Beignets, bourbon and bars. These are usually the things people think of when you mention the French Quarter in New Orleans. However, the area is so much more than that. It is an epicenter of culture and fashion, of mystery and romance. You can take a stroll through any street in the Quarter, and you'll be walking through decades of history. The craftspeople at Anderson wanted to pay homage to this vibrant part of one of America's liveliest cities. For this reason, they created the French Quarter collection. It features three varieties, each named after a specific street in the Quarter. To learn more about this series and what it could do for your design style, read on:
Bourbon Street
If cities had a heartbeat, New Orleans' would emanate from Bourbon Street. People from around the world flock to this 13-block strip to experience the culture and debauchery of the city. Anderson wanted this version of the French Quarter line to attract people the way its namesake does. They employed a beautiful color streaking process that allowed shades of honey, caramel, toffee and medium brown to shine through. The comforting and inviting atmosphere of Bourbon Street flooring is great for living rooms, entryways, kitchens, bedrooms and hallways.
Esplanade Avenue
Known for its breathtaking homes and enchanting cypress trees, Esplanade Avenue is the definition of New Orleans architecture. Visitors to the city often make a walk down this gorgeous section of town a must-do part of their itinerary. Anderson drew inspiration from the hardwood flooring that often decorates these homes and created the Esplanade Avenue version of the French Quarter line. Shades of honey, dark brown, wheat and cafe au lait make each board of Esplanade Avenue unique. It would look stunning in living rooms, dining rooms, entertainment rooms, hallways, kitchens and bedrooms.
Royal Street
Traveling to New Orleans means experiencing some of the world's best jazz and art. At the center of the city's pulsing cultural scene is Royal Street. If Bourbon Street is the heart of the city, Royal Street is is the artery that connects to it. Anderson's craftspeople were determined to create a flooring that was as artistic and memorable as the street for which it's named. Out of their efforts came this version of the French Quarter collection. The dark coloring and hand-scraped surface capture the creative spirit of Royal Street. It is a great flooring option for dining rooms, home offices, sitting rooms, foyers and entertainment rooms.
New Orleans is a dynamic city that will steal your heart, even if you're only there for a few hours. It only makes sense that the French Quarter series would do the same. The three varieties of this line allow homeowners the opportunity to bring the best parts of the area into their houses. In addition to adding remarkable style to your home, you can count on French Quarter to last for many years. It is crafted from U.S.-grown pine and comes with a 50-year warranty.
